PATIENT ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE (MEDICAL ASSISTANT)

Central Indiana Orthopedics is seeking applicants for a full-time Patient Access Representative position at its Muncie, IN office. Patient Access Representatives must have completed a Medical Assistant program.

This individual will gather, verify, and input patient medical history and interview patients to gather medical information prior to their appointments in an efficient, accurate, and pleasant manner over the phone. Individuals in this position also will update patient records with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.

Preferred candidates will have one to two years’ experience in a clinical setting. Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required. Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants also is preferred. Excellent communication and computer skills are required.

TELEPHONE REPRESENTATIVE

Central Indiana Orthopedics is seeking applicants for a full-time Telephone Representative position at its Anderson, IN office.

Individuals in this role work with a ShoreTel phone system answering and routing calls appropriately and providing routine information to the general public in a professional, efficient, and pleasant manner. Individuals in this position also will schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments for patients.

Preferred candidates will have at least 6 months of previous telephone operations experience, ideally in a clinic setting. Knowledge of medical terminology is beneficial. Excellent communication and computer skills are required.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (SHOULDER/KNEE PRACTICE FOCUS)

Central Indiana Orthopedics has an employment opportunity for a Physician Assistant at its Muncie, IN office.

The Physician Assistant will work directly with a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in injuries and disorders associated with the Shoulder and Knee. Under physician supervision, the Physician Assistant is responsible for surgical assistance, post-operative care, performing physical examinations in a clinic environment, obtaining patient histories, responding to patient questions and providing information to patients and their families.

The Physician Assistant also will have call rotation with the supervising physician as well as occasional hospital rounds and discharges for inpatient care.

Physician Assistant candidates must be licensed by the State of Indiana and possess certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. Preferred candidates will have one or more years’ experience in orthopedics. Additionally, Physician Assistant candidates must have proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment within their scope of practice, and have excellent communication skills.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Central Indiana Orthopedics is seeking applicants for a full-time Nurse Practitioner to work in both its Muncie and Anderson, IN offices.

Primary responsibilities for this individual include obtaining a complete medical history, performing physical examinations, and ordering tests as necessary. This position will evaluate and treat acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems in a clinical setting. Additionally, individuals in this role will collaborate with physicians to manage acute and long-term medical needs. Other duties may include staffing a same-day clinic, treating a variety of orthopedic and sports related injuries. The Nurse Practitioner will document and code all professional services.

Candidates must be eligible for a Nurse Practioner’s license in the state of Indiana. Preferred candidates will have one to two years’ experience in an orthopedic setting.

CLINICAL SPECIALIST - DIABETIC FOOT CARE (MA, CMA, or LPN)

Central Indiana Orthopedics is seeking applicants for a part-time Clinical Specialist position at its Muncie and Anderson offices.

The individual in this role will have the responsibility of working in a clinical environment with patients performing diabetic foot care and scheduling follow-up appointments for diabetic foot care. This individual will perform this service in both office and be responsible for maintaining smooth patient flow.

Preferred candidates will have at least one to two years’ experience in a clinical setting as a CMA, MA, or LPN. Excellent customer service, communication and computer skills are required.
