INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN / PURCHASING COORDINATOR

Central Indiana Orthopedics Surgical Center is seeking applicants for a full-time Instrument Technician/Purchasing Coordinator position at its Muncie location.

Individuals in this role are responsible for assisting in a smooth flow of surgical cases by maintaining surgical instruments and equipment. This individual is responsible for preparing, assisting in operation of, and cleaning operating room instruments according to standardized procedures. This role also is responsible for purchasing materials and products for the surgery center.

Certification as a Certified Operating Room Technician is required. At least two years related experience required, preferably in the area of Orthopedics. One year of purchasing experience for a medical or surgical environment required. Additional appropriate operating room experience and purchasing experience may be substituted for education requirements.

Advanced knowledge of and experience with decontamination and sterilization policies and procedures required. Knowledge of and experience in assembling surgical instruments into standardized trays required. Understanding of surgical instruments and their uses during specific surgical procedures required. Excellent communication and computer skills are required. Knowledge of purchasing function including ordering, receiving, distribution, and storage required.

CLINICAL SPECIALIST (LPN or CMA)

Central Indiana Orthopedics is seeking applicants for a part-time Clinical Specialist position at its Marion office. The position will be scheduled approximately 25 hours per week, working on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday morning.

Individuals in this role will perform initial patient assessment and intake information including, but not limited to, medical, family and social history, take and record patient vital signs, and interview patients. Individuals in this role will provide care for clinic patients following established standards and practices, deliver outstanding patient care, and assist in procedures as directed by physicians. This individual also is responsible for maintaining and updating electronic patient records with a high degree of accuracy in a timely and efficient manner, including possibility scribing for the physician while in the exam room.

Candidates must hold a current Indiana State license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or be certified as a Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants. Preferred candidates will have at least one to two years' experience in a clinical setting. Excellent communication and computer skills are required.

Central Indiana Orthopedics is seeking applicants for a PRN (as needed) Patient Representative position at its Muncie and Anderson offices.

Individuals in this role greet and schedule follow-up appointment for patients efficiently, accurately, and with superior focus on customer service. This individual also will receive cash payments from patients, post payments to appropriate accounts and reconcile daily receipts.

X-RAY TECHNICIAN (PRN)

Central Indiana Orthopedics is seeking applicants for X-Ray Technicians working in a PRN status at its Muncie and/or Anderson offices. Individuals in this role will prepare patients for radiological procedures, communicate the process to the patient and take x-rays following established procedures of patient care and safety.

Candidates must hold a license in American Registry of Radiological Technologists (AART) in the State of Indiana. This position requires strong knowledge of radiographic procedures, excellent customer service and patient care, and strong critical thinking skills. Successful individuals must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, along with the ability to adapt to various patient circumstances. Preferred candidates will have one or more years' experience in a clinical setting.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (SHOULDER/KNEE PRACTICE FOCUS)

Central Indiana Orthopedics has an employment opportunity for a Physician Assistant at its Muncie office.

The Physician Assistant will work directly with a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in injuries and disorders associated with the Shoulder and Knee. Under physician supervision, the Physician Assistant is responsible for surgical assistance, post-operative care, performing physical examinations in a clinic environment, obtaining patient histories, responding to patient questions and providing information to patients and their families.

The Physician Assistant also will have call rotation with the supervising physician as well as occasional hospital rounds and discharges for inpatient care.

Physician Assistant candidates must be licensed by the State of Indiana and possess certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants. Preferred candidates will have one or more years' experience in orthopedics. Additionally, Physician Assistant candidates must have proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment within their scope of practice, and have excellent communication skills.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT (SPINE)

Central Indiana Orthopedics has an employment opportunity for a Physician Assistant at its Muncie office. This position will work directly with Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with sub-specialization in Spine Surgery.

The individual in this position is responsible for evaluating and managing acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems in-hospital, hospital rounds, in-office, surgery, and taking calls.

The selected candidates must have a Physician Assistant's license with certification in the State of Indiana. Preferred candidates will have one or more years' orthopedic experience, but not required.

NURSE PRACTITIONER

Central Indiana Orthopedics is seeking applicants for a full-time Nurse Practitioner to work in both its Muncie and Anderson offices.

Primary responsibilities for this individual include obtaining a complete medical history, performing physical examinations, and ordering tests as necessary. This position will evaluate and treat acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems in a clinical setting. Additionally, individuals in this role will collaborate with physicians to manage acute and long-term medical needs. Other duties may include staffing a same-day clinic, treating a variety of orthopedic and sports related injuries. The Nurse Practitioner will document and code all professional services.

Candidates must be eligible for a Nurse Practitioner's license in the state of Indiana. Preferred candidates will have one to two years' experience in an orthopedic setting.
